Notice of Posting – Star City School Transition Implementation Plan
Pursuant to Section 63(3) of The School Division Administration Regulations;
The board of education, in consultation with the school community councils of the affected schools, must develop and adopt an implementation plan respecting the closure of the school or the discontinuance of one or more grades taught in the school, by not later than June 15 of the year in which these changes are to come into effect.

Notice of Intent to Change School Attendance Area Boundaries for Star City
Under the authority of Section 85(1)(i) and Section 122(1) of The Education Act, 1995 the Board of Education made the following motion at their meeting held May 13, 2025:
That beginning in the 2025-2026 school year, the attendance area for Star City School of the North East School Division No. 200 will be allotted to the Tisdale and Melfort attendance areas for grades 7 to 12 in accordance with the 2025-26 Star City Boundary Change Report;
And that the proposed changes will be communicated in local area papers and correspondence will be sent to the affected families;
And that the Board will be accepting written submissions and/or delegations sharing any concerns about the proposed changes at the June 24, 2025 Regular Board Meeting.
A written submission should be sent to the division office at 402 Main Street, Box 6000 Melfort SK S0E 1A0 or via email to divisionoffice@nesd.ca, by June 13, 2025.
Anyone wishing to appear as a delegation at the June 24, 2025, NESD Regular Board Meeting must contact the Director of Education at 306-752-5741 by June 10, 2025, as per Board Policy No. 107 (Board Operations).

Notice of Grade 7-12 Discontinuance
at Star City School, in Star City, SK
On September 19th, 2024 the Board made the following motions;
That pursuant to Section 55 of the School Division Administration Regulations, the Board of Education for the North East School Division No. 200 of Saskatchewan intends to review the viability of Grades Kindergarten to Grade 12 at Star City School, in Star City, Saskatchewan in accordance with the review criteria of Board Policy 114: School Viability Review.

That pursuant to Section 54(1) of the School Division Administration Regulations, the Board of Education for the North East School Division No. 200 of Saskatchewan, following the review of materials relevant to the closure or grade discontinuance of Star City School; pursuant to Section 63(1) of The School Division Administration Regulations, will discontinue grades 7-12 at Star City School, effective July 2, 2025, as consented to by the Star City School and Community Council.
