The vision of the North East School Division is to proudly work with families and community partners to create safe, inclusive, and responsive learning experiences for all. NESD acknowledges that some parents want to provide their children's education in a home-based setting. We support home-based education as set out in legislation and in accordance with NESD AP 605 - Home-Based Education.

NESD Homeschool education registrations are accepted year long. Education plans and year end reports are still required.
Step 1: Immigration or international student? Follow these NESD Immigration or International Student Instructions for permission to register with NESD.
Step 2: Only students who reside within the North East School Division boundaries NESD Boundary Map may register with the NESD Homeschool.

Notice: Pursuant to Section 25(2) of The Local Authority of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, this information is collected for the purpose of maintaining accurate records of all North East School Division students in accordance with The Education Act, 1995.
An education plan is required for each student. Please provide your reasoning and philosophical approach to home-based education, a minimum of 3 broad goals for each of Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, and describe the means of assessing and recording of educational progress in each of these broad goals.

Grade 10-12 Homeschool students may take 1-2 online classes and remain as Homeschool.

Recommended deadline for NESD Distance Learning Form submission and SaskDLC course registration is September 15, 2025 but registration is continuous throughout the year.
Summarizing growth in learning and providing samples of student work to show that growth is required at the end of the academic year. Electronic copies in PDF is the preferred format.

All NESD students are automatically eligible for the High School Driver Education Program at no cost (excluding SGI fees) when they become age eligible. Driver Education information will be emailed out to all Homeschool students of eligible age.
NESD Driver Education. An NESD email will be provided to sign up for driver education.
Sask Ministry of Education High School Credit Options are available for students entering grade 10.
